The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Florida is administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). The program distributes USDA-purchased, 100% American-grown food commodities at no cost to low-income households across all regions of Florida. Food is distributed through a network of contracted regional food banks — including Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida — which partner with local food pantries, soup kitchens, and community organizations serving as recipient agencies.
