Alabama
Southern Rural Black Women’s Initiative for Economic and Social Justice supports Black women and young women in rural communities across Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. The initiative organizes, trains, and nurtures women and girls to build leadership skills, advocate for public policies that support families and communities, develop economic power, incubate local businesses, and address barriers related to race, gender, poverty, education, employment, housing, healthcare, and rural infrastructure. SRBWI works across a 77-county region and centers the voices and leadership of Black women and young women in the rural South.
