Community Conversations: Sister to Sister is a women’s health initiative based in Cambridge, Massachusetts that creates open forums for Black women and their families to discuss health issues, healthcare experiences, and strategies for navigating the medical system. The program brings together Black women, community members, and a multidisciplinary team of health experts to share information about health challenges, improve health literacy, and support informed decision-making. Topics may include chronic disease, reproductive health, healthy aging, mental well-being, healthcare access, and other issues affecting Black women and families. The initiative began at Simply Erinn’s Unisex Hair Salon in Cambridge and continues to use community-centered conversations to build trust, promote self-care, and reduce barriers to better health outcomes.
