Founded in 1978, the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYSCADV) is the only statewide domestic violence coalition in New York, uniting over 135 domestic violence programs and shelters across the state. NYSCADV connects survivors to the New York State Domestic Violence 24-Hour Hotline at 1-800-942-6906, available in English, Spanish, and over 170 languages through interpreter services. Every county in New York State has at least one agency specifically designed to serve domestic violence survivors, offering emergency hotlines, safety planning, emergency shelter, support groups, legal advocacy, counseling, and accompaniment services. Survivors who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing can call 711. The hotline and local program directory cover all regions of New York including New York City, suburban communities, and rural counties. NYSCADV itself does not provide direct services but maintains this comprehensive statewide directory and hotline to connect survivors to immediate local help.
