Alabama
Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program, also known as ADAP, is Alabama’s statewide protection and advocacy program for people with disabilities. ADAP provides legal advocacy, information, advice, and rights-based support to children and adults with physical, cognitive, developmental, and mental health disabilities. The program helps protect and promote disability rights in areas such as education, healthcare, Medicaid, employment, vocational rehabilitation, independent living, voting rights, assistive technology, abuse or neglect, institutions, community access, and alternatives to guardianship. ADAP is part of the national Protection and Advocacy system and serves eligible Alabamians with disabilities.
