Legal Aid Chicago provides free legal assistance in civil cases to eligible people living in Chicago and suburban Cook County. Services may include help with housing, family law, public benefits, consumer issues, employment matters, immigration, tax issues, and other civil legal needs. Applicants must complete intake and eligibility screening before receiving services. Legal Aid Chicago does not provide emergency crisis response and does not handle every type of legal case.
