Kentucky Housing Corporation’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program is a voluntary program for individuals and families currently receiving housing assistance through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program administered by KHC. The program helps participants work toward economic self-sufficiency by setting goals, connecting with supportive services, and building financial stability. As a participant’s earned income increases, KHC may deposit part of its housing assistance payment into an escrow savings account in the participant’s name. Participants who complete the program can use the saved funds toward personal goals such as homeownership, education, transportation, debt reduction, or other steps toward long-term stability.
