The DC Department of Human Services (DHS) provides a comprehensive range of housing programs for families in Washington D.C. experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Family Re-Housing Stabilization Program (FRSP) offers time-limited rental assistance and case management to help families move from shelter to stable housing. Transitional Housing programs serve as an intermediate step between emergency shelter and permanent housing. Permanent Housing options include Targeted Affordable Housing (TAH), which provides permanent rental subsidies to households facing age-related or disability-related barriers, and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), which combines housing assistance with voluntary supportive services for chronically homeless individuals and families. Career MAP (Career Mobility Action Plan) is a pilot program designed to remove employment barriers for low-income families pursuing sustainable careers.
