The NC Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities (OMHHD), part of the NC Department of Health and Human Services, has been working for over 30 years to promote health equity and eliminate disparities for communities of color and other marginalized populations across North Carolina. The office functions as a Health Access to Action Center, Data Resource Center, Community and Partner Engagement Center, and Health Literacy and Training Resource Hub. Key programs include the NC Minority Diabetes Prevention Program, the NC Minority Health Advisory Council, and environmental justice initiatives. OMHHD connects individuals and organizations to health resources, service linkages, and policy advocacy opportunities. Communities, advocates, and organizations can register as partners through the Community Partner Engagement Portal to access shared resources and collaborate on reducing health barriers. The office publishes an annual Health Disparities Analysis Report tracking health outcomes across race, ethnicity, gender, and socioeconomic status in North Carolina.
