New Orleans, Louisiana
Black Women DO Heal is a Louisiana-based nonprofit dedicated to creating safe healing spaces, respite, and mental health support for Black and Brown women. The organization focuses on reducing stigma around mental health and emotional support while promoting rest, recovery, self-care, and community healing. Services and activities may include support groups, group coaching, one-on-one coaching, respite activities, wellness events, education and training, community-healer training, self-care resources, and peer-run mobile respite support for people experiencing burnout, overwhelm, or risk of mental health crisis. This is not a replacement for emergency care or licensed therapy, but it can be a valuable community-based mental wellness and peer support resource.
