Founded in 2014, Atlanta Growing Leadership of Women (Atlanta GLOW) is a Candid Platinum-rated, faith-based 501(c)3 nonprofit serving low-income young women and girls of color ages 14–25 across Georgia. Programs are free and include one-on-one mentoring with professional role models, leadership development and civic engagement, life skills training for self-sufficiency, financial literacy and budgeting, and a Work Ready workforce development program offering paid entry-level job readiness training and job placement. The Period Plus Program operates a period supply bank that distributes free menstrual and hygiene products through partner schools, communities, and nonprofits statewide. Online tutoring and community agency referrals are also available. Free virtual career mentoring and discovery mentoring sessions are available by appointment for Georgia-based young women not yet ready to commit to the 6-month cohort program. Health insurance enrollment assistance is available through myObamacare. The organization is funded in part through ARPA and OJJDP federal grants.
