I genuinely love working with couples and families. Relationships are complicated, especially when everybody cares about each other but somehow keeps ending up in the same argument, the same misunderstanding, or the same roles over and over again. Sometimes you already know exactly how the argument is going to go before it even starts. Everybody knows their lines. Nobody feels heard. And somehow you are right back where you started. That is usually where I come in. I help couples and families slow things down enough to figure out what is actually happening between them. We look at how you communicate, what gets missed, what each person is reacting to, and the patterns that have become so normal that you may not even notice them anymore. And we look at the bigger picture too. Culture matters. Race matters. Family history matters. Gender, identity, parenting, relationships, religion, expectations, and the messages we grew up with about what a family or relationship is “supposed” to look like all matter.
